During our recent trip to Scotland, we treated ourselves to an indulgent afternoon tea on board a steam train. Departing from Aviemore, the train took us on a very picturesque journey through the Cairngorms National Park, passing through Boat of Garten and on to Broomhill Station, while we enjoyed a selection of delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes, plus tea. The children opted for Appletiser rather than tea, but insisted on drinking it from their teacups! After allowing us to stretch our legs and take in the scenery, the train made the return journey to Aviemore, approximately a 2 hour all round trip. The afternoon tea prices were very reasonable and included the return fares, and the staff on board were incredibly helpful and friendly, showing us to our table, regularly checking everything was ok and offering top ups of tea… What more could you ask for?!
