A postcard from… Marwell Zoo, Hampshire (March 2017)

Images taken at Marwell Zoo, Hampshire. March 2017.

It had been a while since our last visit to Marwell Zoo and considering it’s right on our doorstep we thought a day out there was well overdue! Not too much has changed since our last visit, but it was nice to finally see the not-so-small-anymore leopard and tiger cubs who were born last summer. There is also a very exciting new building project going on at the moment for a new tropical house which is due to open in 2018 and will be the largest exhibit ever built at Marwell.

After we’d seen all our favourites, from the big cats to the little lemurs, the kids did their own lemur-style leaping and climbing in one of the play areas, followed by the obligatory roll down the hill behind Marwell Hall!

This was a trip down memory lane for me I remember going with my grandparents when I was a child. You got some great pictures!

We loved Marwell when we visited a few years ago. So much space and well laid out for families and buggies, it makes rolling down the banks a must. I remember being at the giraffes and someone shouting “There’s Farmer Nick” only to spot one of our regular holiday guests also on a day out. Sounds like 2018 is going to be a good year to return with the new tropical house. I love your postcard images from your visit, the Tiger looks very happy with his dinner!

Beautiful photos. We holidayed near there over half term, but didn’t have time to get to Marwell. #countrykids
